PROTECTING THE HEALTH OF OUR COMMUNITY
At Universal Plumbing we take the safety of our employees and our customers very seriously. As of March 13, 2020 the following steps have been implemented.
Protective gloves worn on every job, no matter the type of work being performed and discarded after each job.
N95 masks worn on every job. Our technicians knock on the door wearing the gloves and place their masks on after the homeowner has come to the door, while keeping the appropriate amount of social distancing.
Shoe Covers have always been worn on every job and we will continue to implement this practice.
Sick employees have always been asked to stay home while sick. Our employees are all hourly and receive paid time off for both personal and vacation.
Tarps will only be used in one home no matter how clean they appear after use. After being turned in they are washed using bleach to disinfect.
Trucks are being disinfected continuously
Social Distancing Strategies:
Job information is communicated to our technicians through iPads and industry leading software. Video’s, pictures, estimates, invoices and much more are easily shared via our in house software. Collaboration is easily achieve when needed without face to face contact at all.
Most of our office staff is working from home. We do have two office employees that are reporting to the office. But they are using separate entrances and their offices are in different areas in the building.
Our weekly tech appreciation breakfast, International Plumbing Code training and company meetings have all been temporarily canceled or taken online.
The warehouse manager replenishes the trucks early in the morning, before the techs arrive. That allows them to keep a safe distance and reduces their social contact with one another.
Our fully stocked trucks help us to complete projects and services in an extremely timely manner without trips to the store.
Customers are asked to give our technicians a safe social distance while performing their repairs.
Customers are asked to pay via cc so that no person to person contact is necessary whenever possible.
